Numerous Steps

E) An example of a collection of problems in which each problem in the collection required many steps to complete. Attach a description of each of the steps required to complete this type of problem.

For this portion of my portfolio, I have chosen Problem Set # 4.1. Each of the problems on this assignment take a great deal of steps and effort to complete. These problems deal with logarithmic equations. When you first look at these problems, they don't look incredibly difficult or complicated, but then you realize that they have a variable in the exponent. This means that you must use the log or natural log functions to solve them. To solve the majority of these problems, you must first input the proper numbers into the equation. Then you must solve the equation so that the number with the variable exponent is alone on one side of the equation. Then, depending on whether or not e is involved in the equation, you use the log function, (if it isn't) or use the ln function. (if e is involved) Then, using properties of logs, you can get the variable out of the exponent, and solve for it. The last step is inputting the final equation into a calculator, and rounding your answer. After completing these steps you have completed the problem.
